Psyllium is useful in support of constipation (irregularity). It generally produces bowel movements in 12 to 72 hours. When immersed in the intestines psyllium increases in volume and swells the amount of intestinal matter. This stimulates and lubricates the bowels and helps move waste through the colon.

Suggested Use
Drink a full glass of liquid with each dose. Adults and children over 12 years of age: Take four to five capsules twice daily. Children 6 to 12 years of age: Take three capsules twice daily. Children under 6 years of age: Consult a physician.

Do not use laxatives when abdominal pain, nausea, or vomiting are present or for more than 1 week unless directed by a doctor. If you experience a sudden change in bowel habits that persists over 2 weeks, consult a doctor before using laxatives. Rectal bleeding or failure to move bowels after laxative use may indicate a serious condition. Discontinue use and consult a doctor. As with any drug, if you are pregnant or nursing a baby seek the advice of a health professional before using this product. Keep this and all medicines out of children's reach.
