Lactobacillus acidophilus is a friendly bacteria that exists in the body. Known as simple acidophilus, these lactic acid bacteria are often categorized in a class of organisms known as probiotics. Probiotics help improve the environment of the intestinal tract by producing acids and other compounds, which inhibit the growth of undesirable bacteria. Our bodies need Lactobacillus acidophilus. Studies indicate that acidophilus may aid in the digestion of milk products, prevent some yeast infections and restore bacterial balance in the intestines. They can also be helpful to travelers and antibiotic-induced diarrhea.

Lactobacillus sporogenes is an effective bacteria, which converts the food we ingest into life giving nutrients and physical energy. It works by releasing lactic acid inhibiting bad intestinal bacteria and restores bacterial balance by rapidly encouraging the development of friendly flora. Lactobacillus sporogenes has been studied in the treatment of various gastrointestinal disturbances, and supports healthy digestion, offers relief from heartburn, occasional constipation, diarrhea, acid indigestion, abdominal cramps and gastrointestinal discomforts. Combined with apple pectin, which supports healthy digestion, it promotes normal elimination, and cleanses the intestinal tract.

Because Lactobacillus sporogenes is naturally microencapsulated into spores it is more resistant to heat, gastric acid and bile, and can be mixed with other nutrients making it a more stable product. Unlike many other probiotics, Lactobacillus sporogenes produces only the favored form of lactic acid, which is easily metabolized and is capable of rectifying the imbalance of gastro intestinal microecology. Lactobacillus sporogenes is room temperature stable and does not decrease in bacteria numbers from the time of manufacturing, handling or even storage, as opposed to other probiotics which do decrease with time. Once digested, the bacterial count doesn’t decrease, rather it reproduces at a constant rate, giving you the health benefits of L. sporogenes throughout the day.

Maxi 7M Supreme contains a food derived (originally isolated from green malt) lactic acid producing strain, rather than a soil-derived antibiotic producing Bacillus and is safe for lactic acid sensitive individuals.
